Positioning France and India as major players in the future of artificial intelligence

Against an international backdrop marked by an unprecedented acceleration in the development of artificial intelligence, the France India Foundation, the Indian chapter of the Fondation France-Asie, has launched the France India AI Initiative.

This programme aims to structure and strengthen strategic cooperation between France and India in the field of AI, building on the complementary strengths of their ecosystems. France brings recognised expertise in fundamental research, regulation and ethics, while India benefits from a vast pool of talent, the capacity for large-scale deployment and a unique diversity of data.

Jointly led by the France India Foundation and the Fondation France-Asie, the initiative brings together a network of French and Indian Young Leaders, alongside experts from academia, industry, healthcare and public institutions. Its objective is to develop concrete, actionable recommendations to turn these complementary strengths into lasting partnerships, while contributing to balanced, ethical and inclusive AI governance.
